Cinnamon roasted walnuts

Ingredients

  • 200g walnuts (or as many as you wish)
  • 75ml maple syrup (or agave)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Why?

Great way to enjoy walnuts without salt and other bits from store bought versions

How?

Place all the walnuts in a frying pan, cover with maple or agave syrup and ensure fully covered. Then add all other ingredients and mix again.

Move the pan to the hob and over a medium high heat, caramelise the nuts for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and fragrant.

Pour out onto baking paper and allow to cool before serving and enjoying.

Additional options

  • Adjust the sweetness with a little more sugar or cinnamon
  • Agave tends to be cheaper than maple syrup, so worth a try
